Celebrate Spring with Flower Fancy

by adele on September 2, 2009

It was just waaayyyy too beautiful a day to photograph this card indoors! Don’t ya love Spring!!

This is a make and take that I did at a workshop a few weeks ago. The hostess asked if I could do a card using the Flower Fancy set, so naturally I agreed, but….

Confession time … it wasn’t one of those sets that really grabbed me and I hadn’t actually used this particular stamp set (or any of the two-step stamp sets for that matter) prior to this so I was struggling. Initially I planned to do something with chalks but I wasn’t happy with the result … So out of desperation I grabbed a piece of whisper white and went bang, bang, bang with the red riding hood red ink and it all evolved from there. And of course – now I’m converted. Love the set!!

This card took me under 5 minutes in the end (which was just as well as the workshop girls were coming in less than an hour - nothing like a bit of pressure stamping!!) so you could easily make a stack of these in one sitting. I spread a small blob of Crystal Effects in the flower centres, sprinkled them with Dazzling Diamonds, and raised the sentiment on dimensionals for some must-have touchy-feely-ness.

I have a Father’s Day card to show you, so drop in again tomorrow if you can.

What I used:

  • Stamp Set: Great Friend (Spring Mini catalogue), Flower Fancy
  • Card: Real Red, Whisper White
  • Ink:  Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip
  • Other: Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds, Dimensionals, Stamp-a-ma-Jig.
