About Me

I’m Adele Khoo and I live in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne with my husband, two young children, two budgies and four chickens.

I moved to Australia 14 years ago from Scotland and for 12 of those years I’ve worked as a freelance editor of medical journals.

To ‘balance’ my day job, I’ve always loved making my own cards and while blog hopping for ideas I noticed the same name appearing time after time– Stampin’ Up!

So I decided to get a copy of the catalogue and see what all the fuss was about.

After devouring every page of the Ideas Book I knew I had to join – at the very least just to get my own things at a discount. The products really appealed to my obsessive compulsive need to have everything match. The stamps came in sets and coordinated perfectly together! Many of the stamps even had matching punches! They had even grouped colours into families and had ribbons and buttons and patterned papers to match! Hold me back!!

So I picked what I wanted in my kit and sent off the paperwork. Before my kit had arrived I had decided there was no harm in organising a launch workshop for family and friends. Well, the response took me by complete surprise! People actually placed orders, and they asked me to run workshops for their friends, and they wanted to book in for the next class and bring friends! By the end of that workshop I knew I was hooked and I’ve never looked back!

It really has been the most exciting time of my life, creatively speaking. This is now what I do full time (or as ‘full time’ as you can when you’re a mum of a busy household), and I love nothing more than sitting at my kitchen table playing with a new stamp set (with The Wiggles as background music), and planning workshops and classes when my kids are asleep. I still can’t believe I get paid to have this much fun!

So why not follow me in my adventures in papercraft! You can be involved in different ways…

1.    I have a dedicated classroom space where I run classes every month. I’d love to book you into my next one!
2.    You can earn free stamps and products from the catalogue by getting me to run a workshop for you and your friends. I can come to you or you can make use of my space here and host your workshop from my classroom.
3.    If you’re not based in Melbourne, order a ‘workshop by mail’ and play along at home at a time that suits you.
4.    I place customer orders every week and can take your order by email or over the phone. Your order will be on your doorstep before you know it!
